Seabird Adult Education under Seabird Island Community School (Adult Education Program) provides courses which are part of the BC Adult Graduation Diploma program. Adults who have not graduated may take courses leading to the British Columbia Adult Graduation Diploma (the Adult Dogwood).
The Adult Dogwood with Trades Sampler program is a comprehensive educational opportunity that allows students to work towards their Adult Dogwood diploma while also exploring various skilled trades. The program includes core academic courses like English 12, Math 11, and Anatomy & Physiology 12, as well as a 12-week Trades Sampler program.
Trades Sampler Program:
The Trades Sampler provides hands-on training and exposure to trades such as Automotive, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Electrical, Plumbing, and Welding. Students also earn industry-recognized certifications like Forklift, First Aid, and WHMIS.
Is regulated by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
The Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) regulates private training institutions in British Columbia and provides consumer protection to students.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous financial support of our educational partners, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC).
Their contributions help lift up our students, empowering them to pursue their academic goals and walk proudly on their educational journeys.
We believe that education should be specifically designed for learners that require tactile, hands-on training to compliment their in-room course work.
We are passionate about each student’s success and are committed to going the extra mile to deliver the best service possible.
